Garlic Rasam

For most of us, Garlic rasam is our favorite especially during winter. This is very good for digestion, cold, cough and fever. This is my mom's special. I learnt it from her. We can store this in refrigerator for 2-3 days.
This is very easy to prepare too..so..give it a try...

Ingredients
Garlic pods -5
Pepper - 1/2 spoon
Cumin seeds - 1/2 spoon
Red Chillies - 3
Tamarind water- 1.5 cups(or as needed)
salt - as needed

Preparation
  • Dry roast the pepper and cumin seeds until they crackle. Also dry roast the garlic and red chillies until they turn light brown. Cool and grind to course powder.
  • In a pan add the mild tamarind water and salt. The tamarind water should not be too thin/thick.
  • When this comes to a boil, add the powder made and boil for 7-8 mins until you get a nice aroma.
Garnish with seasoned mustard and cumin seeds. Tastes great when had with hot steamed rice.
